A massive explosion and fire was reported hit Apapa
Seaport destroying some properties. The fire was said to have emanated from an oil
vessel owned by MRS
Petroleum.
“There was a ship trying to discharge into an oil
tanl owned by a Nigeria firm (MRS Petroleum) and there was a fire but I don’t
yet have the detail as to what led to the fire” said by Ibrahim Farinloye of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)
The explosion caused many residences around that
area into panic, I learnt the building shocks and a thick smoke in the air.
