Five-year-old weightlifter,
Miss Precious Martin, has won nine medals in weightlifting at the National
Schools Sports Festival in Port Harcourt.
Martin, who did not have any competitor, won three
gold, three silver and three bronze medals, demonstrating her talents to the
delight of the spectators on Friday.
The weightlifter from Cross River State, revealed
that weightlifting was her passion and that she was set to do her state and the
country proud.
“I am just five years and 11 months old and in
Primary One; my mummy, who is a coach in the game, taught me weightlifting.
Young Martin won the nine medals in the 7kg junior
primary category as a lone participant.

Martin, described the young medalist as “courageous’’.
Martin, who is also the mother of the young
weightlifter, said that her daughter was determined to be a champion in the
game.
